Account Director, Strategy & Activation, VISA US Sports - Global Partnerships (New York, NY)

I.  Position Summary:    

The Global Partnerships Account Director will lead the day-to-day account team and assist client(s) in the development and execution of NFL and other sports marketing initiatives.  This person will advise and manage the client(s) strategic concept development through program execution, alongside bringing new ideas and opportunities for consideration.  This person will also make themselves an expert in the current sports business landscape in order to keep the client informed when relevant to their business.  The Account Director will regularly lead communication with key client personnel as well as internal agency stakeholders.

II. Essential Functions:   

• Interacting daily with corporate client(s), properties and multiple agencies/vendors to support sponsorship initiatives
• Leading daily performance of account team, ensuring quality work, professional communications, effective process implementation alongside timely & strategic account management

• Assisting with the US Sports (primarily NFL) sponsorship strategy, creation, development and implementation for client(s), including negotiating necessary contractual partnership terms, overseeing assets and third party vendor involvement, internal/external communications, promotions and onsite activation

• Developing NFL Event sponsorship activation ideas and execution plans based on client objectives/budget

• Oversight of tactical onsite sponsorship activation at high-profile sporting events.  Specific elements may include, but are not limited to, talent booking, hospitality management, PR integration, client executive presence, relationship management, guest experiences, property management, etc.

• Developing specific programs for a client’s partners using sponsorship assets

• Negotiating team, player and third party vendor contracts

• Providing industry insights & sponsorship/property analysis, including incremental opportunities for integration and co-promotions

• Leading evaluation and a POV of new sponsorship opportunities

• Identifying and contacting potential marketing partners for client(s) goals/objectives

• Interfacing with internal WME IMG division as necessary to develop and implement client programs

• Presenting to senior level client and/or internal agency executives

Will supervise 2+ employees alongside VP

Will oversee client projects with a Team

IV. Minimum Qualifications

• 4 year college degree, MBA or Masters in a Marketing-related discipline preferred
• 8-12 years of sports marketing experience

• Client Management experience strongly preferred

• Experience/knowledge of sports/entertainment marketing (NFL or professional sports experience preferred)

• Experience in financial services industry preferred

• Experience with development and implementation of integrated sports sponsorship marketing strategies

• Demonstrated problem solving skills independently and as part of a team, especially in sponsorship marketing

• Sponsorship contract negotiation experience strongly preferred

• Experience with player/talent contract negotiation and booking preferred

• Proven ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results
• Strong presentation-building skills as well as comfortable and confident boardroom presence

• Proven track record of developing and maintaining business relationships

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Experience and knowledge of social/digital marketing tactics

• Genuine passion for client service

• Ability to travel as needed

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

III. Position Summary:

The Account Executive working on the Anheuser-Busch account team in Global Partnerships at WME|IMG will support the day-to-day management of select clients’ sponsorship development, activation and experiential marketing initiatives across our sports sponsorship portfolio. Specifically, this position will partner with the Manager to develop strategy, planning, activation and execution efforts around programs primarily focused in eSports, with opportunities to drive other AB properties yet to be determined, i.e. NHL and College Football.

IV. Essential Functions:   

  • Day-to-day support of client's marketing strategy development, sponsorship activation and experiential initiatives across our eSports and traditional sports sponsorship portfolio – inclusive of Bud Light’s eSports owned marketing platform, the Bud Light All-Stars.
  • Interact daily with client, all appropriate properties and talent to support multi-channel Bud Light All-Stars campaign and experiential Bud Light eSports efforts, including sponsorships across to be determined traditional sports properties.
  • Coordinate and manage program development with current internal creative and production teams.
  • Manage the client-vendor relationships, including but not limited to Twitch, Vox, DreamHack to execute necessary activation plans, fully leveraging assets on behalf of client.
  • Oversee programmatic creative development and delivery of all media assets.
  • Liaise/interface with external properties and internal WME|IMG divisions as necessary to:
    • Work with client business units to help achieve sales and sponsorship marketing objectives, as appropriate
    • Develop/implement programs on behalf of business units in connection to client's sponsorship platforms
  • Support the creation and implementation of materials to support individual sponsorship initiatives. This will include, but not be limited to, development of creative elements, preparing marketing activation presentations, securing approvals from rights-holders, distribution of materials to the client.
  • Serve as a member of on-site event marketing teams to support sponsorship tactical implementation at all events where agency staff is needed.

VI. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Exceptional knowledge of eSports and gaming culture
  • Strong power point and excel skills
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of agency, property or client-based sponsorship account experience in the sports and entertainment industries (specific disciplines could include, sponsorship marketing, event marketing, media sales and media buying)
  • Understanding of the business of sports, sports media and sports marketing/sponsorship specifically highly preferred; specifically, in eSports properties

III. Position Summary:

The Account Director will be responsible for coordinating and implementing activation programming, promotions, special events and branded content campaigns for a national network of entertainment venues. Will be responsible for working across WME | IMG to facilitate compelling, integrated and effective activations to meet client objectives and strategy. Serve as primary liaison between multiple WME | IMG divisions participating in the scope of work. Will manage at least two direct reports and lead cross functional teams on project assignments to drive brand and business results.  He/she will use software including Keynote and Photoshop to effectively convey a client’s message to a target audience through visual communication.

IV. Essential Functions:   

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of marketing programs: creative ideation, strategy, logistics support, approval support and tracking, status tracking and final delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional engagement team that may include those from other divisions.  Projects may include: marketing strategies, activation strategies and positioning documents, marketing plans, event planning, and implementation of marketing tactics.
  • Develop yearly strategic and activation plans in coordination and liaise/interface with internal WME | IMG divisions as necessary to develop and implement strategies.
  • Research and analysis - Leverage consumer research in order to create fact-based insights in developing brand strategies, marketing strategies and selling our brands to marketing partners.
  • Become an “expert” in marketing and client business/marketing goals across sports, entertainment, music, live events, talent, and digital verticals operated by WME | IMG.
  • Responsible for timelines, milestones, deliverables, ROI tracking and budgets on behalf of dedicated account team.
  • The Account Director will be expected to provide on-going input and leadership across the team without over-stepping lines of responsibility.
  • Manage direct reports; provide on-going training, performance feedback and engage in talent mapping / succession planning.
  • The Account Director will be expected to make a meaningful contribution to the leadership and development of the Marketing team in terms of process management, best practices, thought leadership and innovation.

  • Bachelors degree required in Marketing, Sponsorship or related field. MBA preferred but not required.

  • Experience should include brand strategy experience from an advertising agency, brand consultancy or in-house brand group with a record of developing winning brand ideas.

Position Summary: 

The Head of Sponsorship Sales will be charged with identifying and developing revenue-generating opportunities for the company though corporate sponsorship relationships.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create, define, implement and execute sponsorship objectives
  • Responsible for development of current and new sponsorship prospects to build and manage a sustained pipeline of opportunities
  • Manage the creation of materials to support the sponsorship initiative, including but not limited to marketing activation presentations, event recaps and materials to be distributed to the internal and external client.
  • Focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with important decision makers at client marketing companies and their respective advertising agencies in a variety of business categories
  • Support sponsorship tactical implementation at all events where staff is needed.  Specific services could include general activations and on site coordination, facility tours, talent interactions and client/property relationship management.
