Art + Commerce is looking for an experienced Scanner & Image Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include scanning, light retouching, image trafficking and file archiving. This position works with multiple divisions and requires professional communication skills.
Responsibilities
-Scan and color balance tear sheets and original artwork
-Occasional light retouching and dusting of images
-Process and upload images to website
-Deliver images to clients
-Manage FTP server and download incoming materials from artists through external FTP links
-Manage image editing software for archivists and licensing agents
-Receive and convert PDFs to JPGs
-Manage and update online portfolios
-Process and upload videos to website
-Edit video files
-Maintain various file servers for TIFFs, JPGs, tears, films and PhotoVogue
Job Requirements
-Basic scanning and retouching experience
-Familiarity with photographic processes, especially digital image production
-Proficiency in various image & video file formats, file transfer protocols, web based applications, MAC platform
-Knowledge of proofing systems and CMYK conversions
-Team player but with ability to work proactively and independently
-Detail oriented; well organized
-Ability to work productively under pressure
-Interest or general knowledge of contemporary photography, art and publishing

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Editing programs, media guides and advertisements, including layout, proofreading, copy-fitting, conducting interviews, photo cropping, some writing and any other duties necessary for completion of project.
2. Assembly of flowsheets for advertising and editorial copy, including determining placement of advertisements and program size with sales staff.
3. Acting as a liaison between Publishing and partners as it relates to content and the production manager as it relates to job flow.
4. Coordinate with Director of Publishing to ensure projects stay within assigned budgets and timelines.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree required in journalism or related communication field.
2. Minimum of three years relevant experience in sports information, newspaper/magazine publishing or a combination of those.
3. Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
4. Understanding of desktop publishing systems (Quark and InDesign focused).
5. Phone and personal interviewing experience and working/general knowledge of sports world, particularly collegiate athletics.
