Talent Management: Athlete Representation/Agent
Coordinator, Sports Talent - WME (New York, NY)

WME is currently seeking a Coordinator in our Sports Talent department’s New York office. The Coordinator will be responsible for handling day-to-day client requests, sourcing endorsement, marketing and business opportunities as well as generating new recruiting leads.  The ideal candidate has a passion for sports, must be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with varying deadlines.

Essential Functions:  

  • Help manage and coordinate schedules, corporate appearances and other business-related activities for priority sport marketing clients
  • Develop new recruiting ideas and sales leads for existing clients
  • Manage development and updates on client marketing decks
  • Assist in the development and management of recruiting grids for prospective clients
  • Track and update monthly income projections
  • Draft correspondence; pitch letters, marketing Power Points, client bio’s, marketing blasts
  • Interact with talent on a daily basis; organize and handle all client requests
  • Assist with contract work as directed (i.e. preparation of basic contracts, contract facilitation/status and contract summaries, general legal database maintenance)
  • Manage payments/invoices for client contracts and handle payment issues with client employers
  • Organize travel and itineraries for client endorsement/appearance services
  • Attend shoots and meetings in lieu of executive when necessary
  • Reach out to prospective brands/partners for new appearances/endorsement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 2-3 years of experience in the sports or marketing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Exceptional oral and written communications required
  • Exceptional organizational skills required
  • Exceptional grammar and proofreading skills required
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Research savvy
  • Detail oriented and proactive; problem-solving skills a must
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines with accuracy
  • Knowledge/interest in sports preferred  
  • Flexibility and adaptability as new responsibilities are assigned
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Talent Management: Sales & Marketing Management
Sales Manager, Sports Talent - WME (New York, NY)

Position Summary:

As a Sales Executive in the Sports Talent Division at WME, your primary goal will be to source, negotiate, and service commercial deals (brand endorsements and partnerships) on behalf of our agency’s clients – specifically our top-tier athletes and broadcasters. On a daily basis we speak to brands directly, ad agencies, and to third party talent brokers to discuss ways we can partner our talent with brands to the benefit of both.  These partnerships include traditional advertising campaigns (TV commercials and Print), licensing, voiceover, and non-traditional forms of advertising and marketing outreach such as PR campaigns, brand sponsored personal appearances, digital content and social media. 

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Originate, direct, develop and implement marketing schemes, methods, and strategies through the use of our existing client roster for fortune 500 brands to promote consumer awareness and the sale of products
  • Provide commercial marketing/endorsement opportunities to our agency clients
  • Develop, manage and nurture new business partnerships to accomplish revenue goals
  • Effectively communicate and present research to key stakeholders (agents and clients) across the organization and provide strategies to target new opportunities
  • Possess and present a solid understanding and track record of developing sound marketing strategies and opportunities that drive revenue

Interactions:

  • Will be expected to work across various lines of businesses and agents to present commercial opportunities to our existing client roster

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of equivalent experience within the sports, media and sales landscape
  • Proven experience leading and negotiating commercial sales opportunities 
  • Thorough understanding of data analytics, marketing and brand enhancement
  • Stay atop of brand needs and opportunities
  • Work closely with existing agents to explore and capitalize on client marketing opportunities
  • Comprehensive understanding of established and emerging social platforms, and the tactics required to influence audience these platforms
  • Showcase intimate knowledge of marketing strategies and idea generation, to partner negotiations to program execution and ROI measurement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of marketing, sales principles and practices, in sports, media and entertainment
  • Strong relationships with senior level executives across brands and agencies
  • Ability to create and develop innovative marketing ideas which directly support the achievement of brand awareness and client revenue goals 
  • Effective communicator who has proven selling and relationship skills with internal and external constituents at all levels
  • Must have strategic agility, organizational ability, and successful track record for building effective relationships
  • Must have analytical, planning and decision-making skills along with demonstrated fiscal responsibility and business ethics
  • Forward thinking and strategic mindset are a must
  • Demonstrated success developing and launching innovative marketing ideas, driving brand consideration and preference using different marketing vehicles (TV, print, digital, social media, experiential, promotions, etc.)
  • Creative mind, well versed in shepherding big ideas, ideally has been involved in developing and producing branded awareness
  • Ability to demonstrate a unique approach to problem solving with a business, brand and consumer lens
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and activate concepts/programs cross-functionally
  • Proven ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
